Charlotte promises Wilbur she'll save him, but she doesn't yet know-how. Trying to catch Charlotte, Avery trips and falls, crushing the rotten egg and thus saving Charlotte. Charlotte's overnight handiwork—the words SOME PIG—appears in her web. Wilbur becomes famous as strangers, thinking a miracle has occurred, start visiting the barn. One evening Charlotte calls a barn-wide meeting. She tells the group the web needs a fresh new word and asks for ideas. The goose suggests the word terrific, and Charlotte likes it. When Wilbur objects, saying he is not terrific, Charlotte tells him "that doesn't make a particle of difference" and explains that "people believe almost anything they see in print." The oldest sheep points out that old magazines at the dump might contain useful words.
Across the Kauri Team the question was posed... 'Charlotte and Wilbur are not the same creatures yet they became friends. Does it matter that we are not the same as our friends? '
Wilbur and Charlotte became friends. You don't have to be the same as your friend, you don't have to like the same things. You have to be respectful, polite, kind, caring. friendly and loving and most important you just have to be YOU!
What a wonderful collective answer that was constructed together!
